Overview

This full-time role forms part of the Sustainable Investments team and is responsible for implementing and managing Environmental and Social Management Systems (ESMS) and Environmental and Social Action Plans (ESAPs) across project sites. The position ensures adherence to international ESG frameworks such as the IFC Performance Standards (IFC PS), Equator Principles (EP), and other best practice guidelines. The role requires consistent site engagement to support both contractors and internal teams in maintaining compliance with all environmental and social governance requirements.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Guide implementation of ESMS in accordance with IFC PS, EP, and EHSS Specifications provided to contractors.
  • Review and manage all site-specific ESMS documentation (e.g., SEPs, ESAPs, HSPs, PEPs).
  • Conduct routine site visits to monitor ESMS and EHSS compliance.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to contractor teams and internal site personnel.
  • Represent the company during ESMS audits and manage the close-out of audit findings.
  • Coordinate stakeholders to resolve and close out ESAP action items.
  • Track progress of ESMS implementation and report on associated risks.
  • Ensure all contractual EHSS requirements are implemented and monitored across sites.
  • Conduct on-site inspections to validate compliance with environmental and social standards.

 

What We’re Looking For

  • Postgraduate qualification in environmental management, risk management, SHEQ, or related discipline.
  • 4–8 years’ experience implementing and managing ESMS or similar frameworks.
  • Strong working knowledge of IFC PS, Equator Principles, and international ESG standards.
  • Background in environmental, health, safety, or social consulting.
  • Experience in environmental legal compliance (advantageous).
  • Experience in construction, operations, or renewable energy projects (advantageous).
