Overview

A global renewable energy technology provider is seeking a Senior Account Manager to lead sales and market growth for their utility-scale solar PV and battery storage solutions across Southern Africa. This role is based in Johannesburg and offered as a 12-month contract, with the possibility of renewal for an additional two years. The role focuses on strategic account development, high-value project sales, and regional market expansion.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Drive sales of utility-scale PV inverters, BESS, and MV power station solutions across Southern Africa.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with IPPs, EPCs, utilities, and developers.
  • Develop and execute go-to-market strategies for multi-megawatt solar and storage projects.
  • Coordinate internally with technical, legal, and sales teams to deliver customised project proposals and negotiate supply agreements.
  • Monitor industry trends, policies, and competitor activity to inform commercial tactics and product development feedback.
  • Maintain accurate sales pipelines and forecasting; deliver on regional revenue targets.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows.
  • Ensure project compliance with regional regulations such as REIPPPP and grid code requirements.

 

What We’re Looking For

  • Minimum 8 years of sales experience in the PV sector, specifically focused on utility-scale projects.
  • MUST speak fluent Mandarin.
  • Proven B2B sales record working with EPCs, IPPs, utilities, and project developers.
  • Strong understanding of regional energy policies, grid compliance, and procurement processes.
  • Experience closing large-scale commercial deals and navigating complex sales cycles.
  • Familiarity with PV plant design and energy storage technologies (BESS).
  • Existing network within the Southern African utility-scale market.
  • Willingness to travel extensively within the region.
  • South African citizenship or permanent residency (visa support not available).
