Personal Assistant to Managing Director
Contract position of 1 year (with possibility of renewal)
Location: George (In-office with remote flexibility - hybrid)
Salary: R15,000 per month + quarterly performance-based bonus
Overview
Energy Africa Recruitment is a specialist executive search firm in the renewable energy sector. We’re looking for a strong, highly capable Personal Assistant to support our Managing Director directly. This is not a role for someone who needs micro management or is still figuring things out — we need someone with sharp instincts, proven experience, and the ability to operate independently at a fast pace. You’ll be joining a high-performance, Mac-based environment, so comfort working on Apple systems is essential. What You’ll Do
- Provide direct support to the Managing Director across all operational, administrative, and organisational functions
- Take full ownership of daily admin tasks, follow-ups, and process management, ensuring nothing is dropped or delayed
- Prepare high-quality documentation, reports, formatted CVs, and project tracking updates
- Conduct in-depth research across industries, companies, markets, and candidates using multiple methodologies (Boolean search, open-source intel, data triangulation, etc.)
- Confidently work across cloud-based platforms, with the ability to learn new systems quickly (Office 365, CRM/ATS, shared drives, calendars, and automation tools)
- Manage inboxes, calendars, task lists, candidate and client scheduling, and key deadlines
- Draft professional communication, proposals, and client/candidate material
- Load and manage job descriptions across platforms and keep internal systems up to date
- Support with light social media and branding admin when required
- Be flexible to take on ad-hoc, time-sensitive tasks—even if outside standard hours
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a senior administrative, PA, or executive support role
- English must be your first language — excellent verbal and written fluency is non-negotiable
- Proven ability to think on your feet, make sound judgment calls, and operate proactively
- Confident navigating CRMs, cloud systems, and business tools — a natural digital problem-solver
- Strong command of Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Outlook, Word, Teams, PowerPoint)
- Fast and accurate typing (minimum 45–50 WPM) with strong formatting ability
- Experienced in conducting structured research across multiple sources
- Must be fully comfortable working on a Mac — all systems run through MacBooks (laptop will be provided)
- Must have a reliable smartphone for calls, calendar sync, and communication on the go
- Meticulous attention to detail, with pride in producing polished, error-free work
- Must be adaptable, fast-learning, socially intelligent, and confident in high-expectation environments
- A solid home office setup (desk, dedicated workspace, and reliable WiFi) is essential for remote work days
- This role will not suit someone juggling young children or rigid hours — occasional late work (6–7pm) is required
