An international frontrunner in infrastructure development is set to initiate a revolutionary and mammoth water project in Thabazimbi. This role is critical to ensuring contractual compliance and efficient administration of the project’s commercial terms throughout the lifecycle.
What You’ll Do
- Oversee full contract administration in accordance with FIDIC conditions of contract for a large-scale water infrastructure project.
- Prepare, submit, and manage Interim Payment Certificates (IPCs) and variation orders.
- Lead negotiations with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to resolve contract-related disputes or adjustments.
- Manage and evaluate subcontractor packages, ensuring contractual alignment and cost control.
- Handle claims preparation, defence, and resolution processes in coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
- Identify and mitigate contractual and commercial risks across project phases.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date contract records, logs, and documentation for audit and reporting purposes.
- Work closely with the Project Manager, site team, legal advisors, and finance to align on contractual milestones and obligations.
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in contract management on large-scale civil infrastructure or water projects.
- Proven expertise in FIDIC (Red Book/Yellow Book) contract administration and interpretation.
- Strong track record with IPCs, variation orders, claims, and risk identification/mitigation.
- Demonstrated experience in subcontractor management and commercial negotiations.
- Solid understanding of South African construction law and regulatory environment.
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Law, Engineering, or related relevant field.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for internal and external reporting.
