Overview

We’re looking for a seasoned professional with 15+ years of experience in South Africa’s water infrastructure sector — someone who understands the nuances of long-standing stakeholder relationships, is fluent in Afrikaans, and brings deep technical insight shaped by years of hands-on delivery.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead project-wide integration across all disciplines, including civil, mechanical, electrical, control, and instrumentation.
  • Develop and implement integrated project plans, schedules, and coordination strategies to align procurement, contractor design, manufacturing, installation, and commissioning timelines.
  • Manage the integration of long-lead procurement activities with the contractor’s design development and construction programming.
  • Oversee the integration of multi-discipline procurement workflows and track interdependencies between workstreams.
  • Coordinate the installation and testing phases across disciplines to ensure complete system alignment and readiness.
  • Lead the commissioning and trial operation processes, ensuring that multi-disciplinary outputs are functionally integrated.
  • Liaise with the Engineer on the Employer’s design elements to ensure compatibility with construction and operational requirements.
  • Drive integration of subcontractor contract management, and exercise appropriate authority to implement integration strategies across all teams.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships between internal teams and external stakeholders to support delivery efficiency.

What We’re Looking For

  • Minimum 10 years of experience managing integration on multidisciplinary bulk water infrastructure projects.
  • Fluency/First Language Afrikaans is a big advantage.
  • Relevant degree, diploma, or equivalent (NQF Level 6 or higher) in Construction Management, Project Management, or Engineering. Foreign qualifications must be SAQA-accredited.
  • Proven experience aligning multi-disciplinary teams across all phases of infrastructure project execution.
  • Strong understanding of technical interdependencies between mechanical, electrical, control, and civil systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage long-lead procurement, design coordination, and contractor integration.
  • Ability to drive system-wide commissioning and handover processes.
  • Willingness to be site-based in Limpopo for the duration of the project.

What We Offer

  • The opportunity to be part of a landmark municipal water infrastructure project with tangible socio-economic impact.
  • A challenging and rewarding site-based role with autonomy and strategic influence.
  • Multicultural, high-performance team environment.
