Overview
We’re looking for a seasoned professional with 15+ years of experience in South Africa’s water infrastructure sector — someone who understands the nuances of long-standing stakeholder relationships, is fluent in Afrikaans, and brings deep technical insight shaped by years of hands-on delivery.
What You’ll Do
- Lead project-wide integration across all disciplines, including civil, mechanical, electrical, control, and instrumentation.
- Develop and implement integrated project plans, schedules, and coordination strategies to align procurement, contractor design, manufacturing, installation, and commissioning timelines.
- Manage the integration of long-lead procurement activities with the contractor’s design development and construction programming.
- Oversee the integration of multi-discipline procurement workflows and track interdependencies between workstreams.
- Coordinate the installation and testing phases across disciplines to ensure complete system alignment and readiness.
- Lead the commissioning and trial operation processes, ensuring that multi-disciplinary outputs are functionally integrated.
- Liaise with the Engineer on the Employer’s design elements to ensure compatibility with construction and operational requirements.
- Drive integration of subcontractor contract management, and exercise appropriate authority to implement integration strategies across all teams.
- Establish and maintain collaborative relationships between internal teams and external stakeholders to support delivery efficiency.
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum 10 years of experience managing integration on multidisciplinary bulk water infrastructure projects.
- Fluency/First Language Afrikaans is a big advantage.
- Relevant degree, diploma, or equivalent (NQF Level 6 or higher) in Construction Management, Project Management, or Engineering. Foreign qualifications must be SAQA-accredited.
- Proven experience aligning multi-disciplinary teams across all phases of infrastructure project execution.
- Strong understanding of technical interdependencies between mechanical, electrical, control, and civil systems.
- Demonstrated ability to manage long-lead procurement, design coordination, and contractor integration.
- Ability to drive system-wide commissioning and handover processes.
- Willingness to be site-based in Limpopo for the duration of the project.
