Salary: Up to a max of R150,000/month (depending on experience and qualifications) + accommodation provided + R5.00/km (R&R reimbursement)
Overview
An EPC contractor in the renewable energy sector is seeking a technically astute Construction Manager to take full site responsibility for the execution of the 330MW Solar PV Project near Secunda. With over 65,000 foundation pilings to be installed, this role demands exceptional attention to detail, strong leadership, and proven solar construction expertise. The position is site-based and will suit a Construction Manager who thrives in high-precision, fast-paced environments and can drive EPC deliverables to completion.
What You’ll Do
- Manage and coordinate all on-site EPC construction activities for the 330MW solar PV project
- Oversee subcontractor performance and ensure adherence to quality, timeline, and technical specifications
- Execute and monitor piling and tracker installation to exact tolerances – over 65,000 pilings to be installed
- Maintain daily site reporting, construction schedules, and progress tracking in collaboration with Head Office
- Interface with engineering, procurement, and QA/QC teams to ensure alignment between design and execution
- Enforce site-wide compliance with HSE policies and statutory regulations
- Identify and address construction risks early to ensure project stays within scope and timeline
- Lead site meetings, technical briefings, and inspections with internal and external stakeholders
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Construction Manager on large-scale utility solar PV projects (50MW+)
- Extensive technical knowledge of piling, tracker systems, and structural alignment
- SACPCMP Pr.CM registration preferred (or registration in progress)
- Proven ability to manage complex site environments and large construction teams
- Strong command of site documentation, scheduling tools, and technical reporting (MS Project, Excel, etc.)
- Excellent communication skills and site leadership capability under pressure
- Willing and able to be site-based near Secunda for the full project duration
- Valid driver’s license
