Overview
We are seeking a skilled Tax Practitioner to join an international EPC, for a pivotal role in managing tax compliance and advisory services for our South African operations.
This position involves overseeing JV projects and subsidiaries while ensuring adherence to South African tax regulations and professional standards.
What You'll Do
Tax Compliance:
- Act as the tax representative for joint ventures and subsidiaries.
- Prepare and file VAT returns, PAYE, and other tax submissions accurately and on time.
- Manage tax clearance certificates and liaise with SARS for compliance matters.
Tax Advisory:
- Provide strategic tax advice with a focus on South African tax regulations.
- Handle and track VAT refund applications to ensure accurate and timely reimbursements.
Professional Standards:
- Ensure strict adherence to South African tax laws and uphold professional ethics.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive tax documentation and reporting.
- Guarantee a clean record with SARS, with no prior penalties or sanctions.
What We're Looking For

Qualifications:
- Registered with SARS and a Recognised Controlling Body (RCB).
- 5-10 years of experience in tax practice, with expertise in VAT refunds and income tax.

Preferred Experience:
- Previous experience working with SARS or established professional relationships within SARS.
- Hands-on tax experience in large enterprises, especially in the construction industry.

Skills:
- Strong knowledge of VAT, PAYE, and income tax laws.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
