Overview
Our client is a leading IPP in South Africa’s renewable energy landscape, based in Cape Town. This role is based full‑time in the office. Our client has an enviable culture and a pro‑employee environment.
This role sits within the Asset Performance team and supports the Facility Management function by managing the multi‑disciplinary engineering aspects of the projects during the Operations and Maintenance phase. The position focuses on technical oversight, technical compliance, coordination across O&M teams, defect and non‑compliance management, and ensuring that operational performance aligns with contractual, legal, and governance requirements. The role interfaces with O&M teams, facility management, project entities, and internal stakeholders to ensure technical activities, documentation, and reporting remain structured, accurate, and audit‑ready.
What You’ll Do
- Manage and process project technical queries.
- Review and manage project O&M manuals.
- Conduct frequent site visits to ensure overall technical performance of the project.
- Monitor technical compliance in accordance with contracts, project documents, O&M manuals, OEM guidelines, applicable laws, and relevant codes.
- Manage defects, deviations, and non‑compliance items across the facilities.
- Provide technical support on warranty, insurance matters, and claims under O&M contracts, insurance policies, and project agreements.
- Compile, review, present, and interrogate technical and operational reports.
- Review and assess technical reports, method statements, and information received from contractors and related parties.
- Coordinate and collaborate on preparations for EXCO, board meetings, and ad‑hoc presentations on behalf of the Project Company.
- Ensure compliance with all internal Red Rocket policies and procedures.
- Implement and coordinate Integrated Management System requirements applicable to the respective facilities.
- Ensure effective use of systems and tools such as central SCADA platforms and mobile applications required for O&M and facility management functions.
- Support development and improvement of internal O&M systems, manuals, policies, and procedures.
- Participate in project phases such as commissioning and Taking Over, providing technical support to ensure that contractual tests and project document requirements are met.
- Promote a corporate culture of ethical practice, integrity, sustainability, and strong client relationships.
- Share knowledge, lead skills‑transfer initiatives, and contribute to best‑practice development within the team.
- Perform duties loyally, diligently, and in the best interest of the organisation, protecting and promoting its reputation and business interests.

What We’re Looking For
- Degree or Diploma in a relevant field.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in the renewable energy market.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in project management.
- Expert proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong knowledge of wind technologies.
- Experience in commissioning.
- Understanding of Project Documents including PPAs, EPC contracts, and O&M Agreements.
- Knowledge of Health, Safety, and Environmental legislation and the ability to apply it in contractual and operational contexts.
- Strong problem‑solving ability, collaborative mindset, and willingness to travel to different projects.
- Ability to deliver O&M milestones against plans and budgets.
- Demonstrated adoption of O&M best‑practice processes and governance.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills across internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work in fast‑paced, goal‑driven environments.
- Self‑regulation and ability to work independently.
- Strong analytical and critical‑thinking capabilities.
- High level of organisation, detail orientation, and time‑management.
- Working knowledge of business intelligence and data‑analysis tools.
- Fluency in English (read, write, speak).
