HV & GRID ELECTRICAL ENGINEER - SITE (Owners Engineer)

The team brings together a deep bench of multidisciplinary engineers — civil, electrical, mechanical, geotechnical, environmental, grid, and project controls — all working within a highly structured international quality and governance framework.

Across Africa, the group is known for supporting high-impact energy programmes, grid-strengthening initiatives, and utility-scale renewable developments. These roles sit within one of South Africa’s largest upcoming utility-scale solar build programmes: six Solar PV projects (totalling 1.28 GW), clustered into three construction packages (two projects per cluster). Construction will take place across Mpumalanga, Limpopo, and North West.

2. What You’ll Do

• Oversee high-voltage and grid-related electrical works during construction.
• Monitor installation, testing, and compliance of HV equipment and grid interfaces.
• Review drawings, specifications, and technical documentation for compliance with standards.
• Support grid integration, switching operations, and commissioning readiness.
• Coordinate technical activities with EPC electrical teams and multidisciplinary OE teams.
• Identify project risks and implement mitigation measures throughout the lifecycle.

3. What We’re Looking For

• BSc / BTech / NDip Electrical Engineering.
• 10+ years electrical engineering experience (desirable).
• At least 2 years’ experience in similar assignments with Owners Engineer.
• Experience identifying and mitigating commercial and contractual risks.
• Experience working within multidisciplinary, multicultural engineering teams.
