Overview

Our client is a leading IPP in South Africa’s renewable energy landscape, based in Cape Town. This role is based full time in the office. Our client has an enviable culture and pro-employee environment.

This role sits within the Asset Performance team and supports the operational management of a renewable energy portfolio through structured system administration, data management, and performance monitoring. The position focuses on maintaining operational systems, data integrity, reporting structures, and compliance documentation across the asset portfolio. The role works closely with the Command Centre Manager and interfaces with O&M teams, facility management, and performance monitoring functions to ensure operational processes and reporting remain structured, accurate, and audit‑ready.

What You’ll Do

• Maintain, configure, and administer operational platforms supporting asset performance including SCADA, SQL databases, monitoring tools, and internal performance systems.
• Manage structured system documentation, ensuring accurate version control, repository organisation, data integrity, and alignment with internal governance standards.
• Ensure all Command Centre system records are up to date and maintained according to internal audit requirements and operational procedures.
• Support the development, onboarding, and continuous improvement of performance monitoring tools, databases, and operational workflows.
• Conduct short‑, medium‑, and long‑term performance evaluations across energy production, availability, performance ratios, and expected versus actual performance.
• Verify performance data, operational reports, and information received from third‑party service providers.
• Assist in the implementation and optimisation of SCADA tools, plant‑specific monitoring strategies, and operational procedures during the O&M phase.
• Support internal operational manuals, procedures, and system governance requirements across the Command Centre and O&M teams.
• Coordinate the flow of operational data, system updates, and reporting between O&M teams, the Command Centre, and other internal stakeholders.
• Ensure accurate documentation of all system activities and maintain audit‑ready electronic and hard‑copy records.

What We’re Looking For

• Degree or Diploma in Engineering, IT, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in an analytical, technical operations, or system support role.
• Experience working with SQL databases, SCADA systems, SAP, Ubuntu, or similar operational platforms.
• Strong analytical capability with experience in data verification, performance assessment, and system evaluation.
• High proficiency in system administration, data management, and technical documentation processes.
• Strong understanding of renewable energy technologies and system integration concepts.
• Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced, goal‑driven environment with strong self‑management skills.
• Detail‑oriented with excellent organisational, troubleshooting, and ICT literacy skills.
