Electrical Site Supervisor

Overview

An international renewable-energy leader is seeking an experienced Electrical Site Supervisor to oversee the construction and commissioning of utility-scale solar projects.

The role focuses on electrical balance of plant and grid-interconnection works, ensuring technical excellence, quality compliance, and adherence to environmental and safety standards throughout execution.

This is a site-based position reporting to the Site Superintendent within the Project & Construction Management team.

What You’ll Do

  • Supervise and coordinate contractors’ construction activities during the execution and commissioning phases.
  • Monitor and verify that works comply with design, specifications, and project timelines.
  • Review contractor planning to avoid interface or activity clashes.
  • Enforce compliance with project standards, safety, and quality-control plans.
  • Conduct inspections, witness tests, and ensure proper material handling and change-control (RFI) procedures.
  • Maintain accurate site documentation, observation logs, and progress records (daily/weekly/monthly).
  • Liaise with construction stakeholders including HSE, Quality, and Commissioning Managers, as well as external authorities.
  • Review progress claims and apply earned-value assessment where required.
  • Support punch-listing, testing, and close-out activities with the Site Superintendent and O&M team.
  • Ensure all contractual and quality requirements are met prior to final handover.
  •

What We’re Looking For

  • Electrical-engineering qualification (degree or equivalent technical certification).
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a site supervisor on large-scale construction projects.
  • Proven background in renewable-energy or infrastructure projects (solar preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of E-BoP and grid-interconnection works.
  • Demonstrated understanding of HSE and quality-control frameworks (IFC Standards, ESMS, Equator Principles).
  • Excellent communication, reporting, and stakeholder-coordination skills.
  • Ability to work independently on remote project sites and travel within Africa.
  • South African citizenship preferred.
  •

What We Offer

  • Exposure to international EPC standards and complex renewable-energy project delivery.
  • Opportunity to work in a high-performance, multicultural project environment with long-term growth potential.
