Electrical Site Supervisor
Overview
An international renewable-energy leader is seeking an experienced Electrical Site Supervisor to oversee the construction and commissioning of utility-scale solar projects.
The role focuses on electrical balance of plant and grid-interconnection works, ensuring technical excellence, quality compliance, and adherence to environmental and safety standards throughout execution.
This is a site-based position reporting to the Site Superintendent within the Project & Construction Management team.
What You’ll Do
- Supervise and coordinate contractors’ construction activities during the execution and commissioning phases.
- Monitor and verify that works comply with design, specifications, and project timelines.
- Review contractor planning to avoid interface or activity clashes.
- Enforce compliance with project standards, safety, and quality-control plans.
- Conduct inspections, witness tests, and ensure proper material handling and change-control (RFI) procedures.
- Maintain accurate site documentation, observation logs, and progress records (daily/weekly/monthly).
- Liaise with construction stakeholders including HSE, Quality, and Commissioning Managers, as well as external authorities.
- Review progress claims and apply earned-value assessment where required.
- Support punch-listing, testing, and close-out activities with the Site Superintendent and O&M team.
- Ensure all contractual and quality requirements are met prior to final handover.
What We’re Looking For
- Electrical-engineering qualification (degree or equivalent technical certification).
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as a site supervisor on large-scale construction projects.
- Proven background in renewable-energy or infrastructure projects (solar preferred).
- Strong knowledge of E-BoP and grid-interconnection works.
- Demonstrated understanding of HSE and quality-control frameworks (IFC Standards, ESMS, Equator Principles).
- Excellent communication, reporting, and stakeholder-coordination skills.
- Ability to work independently on remote project sites and travel within Africa.
- South African citizenship preferred.
