An international frontrunner in infrastructure development is set to initiate a revolutionary and mammoth water project in Limpopo. Join a dynamic team committed to engineering excellence and sustainable development in one of South Africa’s most ambitious water infrastructure endeavors. As part of the execution team, the Site Agent will be responsible for the on-site management of large-diameter welded steel pipeline installations across a bulk water network. This role plays a critical part in coordinating daily construction activities, ensuring specification compliance, and delivering a high-quality pipeline system that interfaces with reservoirs, pump stations, and control systems.

2. What You’ll Do

  • Oversee the day-to-day on-site management of pipeline construction activities, coordinating work between different teams and resolving operational issues.
  • Supervise all phases of pipeline construction including site clearance, trenching, welding, laying, and installation of pipeline accessories such as valves and flow meters.
  • Ensure quality control of pipeline installation, including verification of depth, slope, connection methods, and material inspections.
  • Manage the installation and functioning of electrical, control, and instrumentation systems laid along the pipeline, including power supply and fibre optic infrastructure.
  • Coordinate alignment with associated pumping stations, reservoirs, and other infrastructure interfaces to ensure seamless integration.
  • Enforce safety policies through implementation of safety management systems, staff training, routine site patrols, and elimination of potential hazards.
  • Serve as the communication link between the site and external stakeholders, including design consultants, the owner’s team, and the local community to address construction-related disruptions.
  • Maintain accurate records, compile progress and compliance reports, and submit data to relevant departments.

3. What We’re Looking For

  • Minimum 10 years of construction experience on ≥800 mm ND welded buried steel pipeline infrastructure projects, with a minimum pipeline length of 20 km.
  • Qualification in a relevant trade, or a degree/diploma (or equivalent) in Construction Management or Engineering.
  • Professional registration with ECSA or SACPCMP (advantageous).
  • Strong understanding of civil pipeline construction specifications, welding and installation standards, and interface requirements with M&E infrastructure.
  • Demonstrated experience managing subcontractors, teams, and project quality control on complex pipeline sites.
  • Familiarity with safety compliance systems and on-site stakeholder engagement.
  • Willingness to be site-based in Limpopo for the duration of the project.

4. What We Offer

  • The opportunity to be part of a landmark municipal water infrastructure project with tangible socio-economic impact.
  • A challenging and rewarding site-based role with autonomy and strategic influence.
  • Multicultural, high-performance team environment.
