Our Client is the global leader in PV inverter shipments, with over 405GW installed worldwide and operations across 170 countries. With the largest dedicated R&D team in the industry and a broad portfolio spanning PV inverters, battery energy storage systems (BESS), floating PV solutions, EV charging, and renewable hydrogen, Client is committed to delivering clean power for all. We are seeking an experienced Account Manager to drive sales of PV inverters, BESS, and medium‑voltage power station solutions in the utility‑scale market across Southern Africa (South Africa, Zambia, and DRC). This strategic role will focus on building and managing key relationships with developers, EPCs, utilities, and IPPs, ensuring Clients continued leadership in large‑scale renewable energy projects.
What you'll do
- Business Development & Sales Execution
- Promote Clients central inverters, string inverters, and BESS solutions to utility‑scale clients.
- Develop and execute sales strategies from lead generation to contract closure.
- Identify and target strategic accounts to expand Clients market share.
- Client & Stakeholder Management
- Build and maintain long‑term relationships with EPCs, developers, utilities, and government entities.
- Coordinate cross‑functional teams (sales, technical, legal) to deliver tailored proposals.
- Negotiate MSAs, PPAs, and project‑specific contracts.
- Market Intelligence & Strategy
- Monitor regional policies, industry trends, and competitor activity.
- Provide feedback to product teams to optimize solutions for Southern Africa.
- Sales Performance & Forecasting
- Track pipeline opportunities and deliver regular revenue forecasts.
- Adjust tactics to meet targets and represent Client at trade shows and industry events.
- Project Support & Compliance
- Ensure projects align with local regulations (e.g., REIPPPP, grid codes).
- Collaborate with engineering and logistics teams to guarantee on‑time delivery and customer satisfaction.
What we’re looking for
- 8+ years in PV industry sales, with a focus on utility‑scale projects (inverter/BESS experience preferred).
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Business, Engineering, or Renewable Energy.
- Proven track record in B2B direct sales to EPCs, developers, and utilities.
- Deep understanding of Southern Africa’s energy policies, procurement processes, and competitive landscape.
- Strong negotiation skills with experience closing multi‑MW project deals.
- Existing network with top EPCs and IPPs in Southern Africa (preferred).
- Technical familiarity with PV plant design, grid compliance, and energy storage systems.
- Fluency in English (additional local languages a plus).
- Willingness to travel frequently within the region.
- Citizens/permanent residents preferred (visa sponsorship not provided).
