Job Description

Our client is an engineering consulting company who provide tailored solutions in electrical engineering, equipment supplies and consulting services. One of their core services includes designing innovative solar PV and BESS plants.

Requirements for the role:

1. BTech or equivalent in Electrical Engineering
2. Bentley Microstation experience is preferable over AutoCAD
3. Must have at least 5 years experience as a draughtsman with solid experience on Eskom Distribution (upto 132kV) outdoor substation (MV, HV) primary plant layouts, SLD’s, GA’s, earthing layouts, sections and elevations, 
4. Good practical understanding of Eskom Distribution design standards and standard drawings
5. Must have the ability to interpret different drawing language standards such as IEC, Eskom etc and translate drawings to BOQ’s
6. Knowledge of primary plant equipment technology, LV and MV reticulation systems, small power and lighting would be an advantage
7. Draughting experience with Substation Secondary Plant schematics and drawings would be an advantage
8. Draughting experience with Renewable Energy technologies such as Solar PV, Wind and BESS would be an advantage
9. Must be able to work independently and accurately with minimal supervision 
10. Must be details oriented
11. Must have strong organizational skills and willing to go the extra mile to ensure deliverables are submitted on time
12. Must have excellent verbal communication skills
13. Must have excellent time management skills to meet deadlines
